Synthetic aggregate ball trap

The synthetic rubber granulate bullet trap is mainly used in a large shooting range. More particularly in a shooting range of the Ministry of Defense, where tracers might be used.

This first part of the trap consists first of a mound of earth or back sheets at the rear part. This part is then covered with a 2.50m deep layer of synthetic rubber granulates. We then place rubber mats (also called cover mats) on the granulates.

The advantages of the synthetic rubber granulate bullet trap

The advantages of the synthetic aggregate bullet trap  are numerous:

  1. It allows the firing of tracing ammunition and withstands impacts from war ammunitions.
  2. It allows  tactical shooting at a very short distance (less than 1m).
  3. Upon hitting this trap, the bullets are neither destroyed nor deformed. Thus, there is less lead dust or fragments.
  4. No ricochet.
  5. Replacement of  ventilation filters is less frequent and therefore operating costs are reduced.
  6. Use of all types of ammunition ; from the . 22 to the 5.56 and 7.62, including armour-piercing ammunition.
  7. Reduction of nuisances due  to the absence of impacts against steel plates
